Meet one of our Promise Babies: Maddox!


Maddox Dean, son of Darrin and Ashley Brummel of Doon, IA, was born 3:15 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, in their home, weighing 6 pounds, 2 ounces, and measuring 21 inches. He has four siblings, Braleigh, 6; Bentley, 4; Raeya, 3, and Adalyn, 2. His grandparents are Pete and Judy Brummel of Hull, IA; Julie Leaf of Sioux Falls, SD; and Dale Van Dyke of Sibley, IA.

Certified nurse midwife Belinda Lassen of Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, IA, provided the prenatal care for the family throughout the pregnancy and attended the home birth.


Ashley Brummel holds her baby, Maddox. She and
her husband, Darrin, welcomed baby Maddox into
their family on Thursday, April 19. He was born
in their home in Doon, IA, with the assistance of
midwife Belinda Lassen of Promise Community
Health Center of Sioux Center.
