Meet one of our Promise Babies: Daniel!

Daniel Thomas, son of Neil and BreAnne Rohe of Sioux Falls, SD, was born 5:04 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018, in their home, weighing 8 pounds, 2 ounces, and measuring 22 inches. He has three siblings, Hope, 7; Jami, 5; and Chris, 2. His grandparents are Tom and Donna Rohe of Le Mars, IA, and Todd and Lisa Sitzmann of Le Mars.

Certified nurse midwife Belinda Lassen of Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, IA, provided the prenatal care for the family throughout the pregnancy and attended the home birth. Registered nurse Kari Ney also assisted with the birth.

"I have loved the care I've received from Belinda and the staff at Promise," BreAnne said. "It is so nice to have the option for home birth. It was an amazing experience!"

Meet one of our Promise Babies: Elaine!

Elaine Jade, daughter of Levi and Lauren Hertz of Menno, SD, was born 10:58 a.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018, in their home, weighing 8 pounds, 10 ounces, and measuring 21 inches. She has three siblings, Liam, 5; Benjamin, 3; and James, 1.

Certified nurse midwife Pam Hulstein of Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, IA, provided the prenatal care for the family throughout the pregnancy and attended the home birth.

Lauren said she "wouldn't change the home birth for anything" even though it hurts more without an epidural.

"It was so nice to be in my own element with such personable and sweet people helping me have this blessing," she said.

on Sunday, March 18. She was born in their home in

Crew Siep, son of Nate and Sabrina DeJong of Sioux Falls, SD, was born 10:44 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018, in their home, weighing 9 pounds, 2 ounces, and measuring 21 inches. He has a brother, Jagger, 2. His grandparents are Greg and Sherri DeJong of Rock Rapids, IA, and Scott and Amy Sieperda of Rock Rapids.

Certified nurse midwife Belinda Lassen of Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, IA, provided the prenatal care for the family throughout the pregnancy and attended the home birth. Registered nurse Kari Ney also assisted with the birth.

"We absolutely loved our experience! It was wonderful!" Sabrina said. "We can't say enough about Belinda and Kari. They were amazing!"

Larkynn Maranatha, daughter of Josh and Jessica Dagel of Ashton, IA, was born 1:47 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces, and measuring 20.5 inches. She has eight siblings, Dawson, 15; Ashlynn, 14; Pierson, 11; Zion, 9; Emilynn, 7; Gabrion, 5; Truston, 3; and Brynn Adine, 20 months. Her grandparents are Jeff and Brenda Krahling of Sibley, IA, and Mark and Brenda Dagel of Ocheyedan, IA.
