Meet one of our Promise Babies: Cash!


Cash Zion, son of Wayne and Sharilyn Trout of Sioux Falls, SD, was born 3:42 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018, in their home, weighing 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and measuring 22 inches. He has four siblings, Caleb, 12; Christian, 7; Charis; 4; and Chiera, 2.

Certified nurse midwife Belinda Lassen of Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center, IA, provided the prenatal care for the family throughout the pregnancy and attended the home birth. Registered nurse Kari Ney also assisted with the birth.

"We feel truly blessed by our experience with Belinda and the home birth of our son," Sharilyn said. "Wish we could have had all our kiddos this special way and under such great care!"

home in Sioux Falls, SD, with the assistance of midwife
Belinda Lassen of Promise Community Health Center.
