Meet one of the latest Promise Babies: Everly!

Everly, daughter of Joni Nibbelink of Hospers, IA, was born 7:25 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, in her home, weighing 6 pounds, 10 ounces, and measuring 20 inches. She has four siblings, Berlin, 12; Odessa, 10; Vienna, 9; and Brogan, 7.

Certified nurse midwife Belinda Lassen of Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center provided the prenatal care for the family, as she had for three of Joni's previous children, and assisted with the home birth.

This was Joni's first home birth experience, however.

"It was amazing, absolutely everything about it," she said, noting that her other children could be an integral part of the experience following the birth and the home environment was much more pleasant. "It was just a very comfortable and relaxing aftermath."

Joni Nibbelink and her family welcomed baby Everly
into their home on Tuesday, July 12. She was born
in a home birth with the assistance of midwife
Belinda Lassen of Promise Community Health Center.
