Meet one of our Promise Babies: Ezra!

Ezra Eugene, son of Daryn and Candace Dockter of Sioux Falls, SD, was born 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, in their home, weighing 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and measuring 20 inches. He has two siblings, Lydia, 6, and Solomon, 3. His grandparents are Gene and Gayle Gross of Parker, SD, and Daryl and Deb Dockter of Sioux Falls.

Certified nurse midwife Belinda Lassen of Promise Community Health Center of Sioux Center, IA, provided the prenatal care for the family throughout the pregnancy and attended the home birth. Registered nurse Kari Ney also assisted with the birth.

"We feel incredibly fortunate to have the care of Belinda and Kari during our home birth," Candace said. "During the birth, we felt fully supported and respected while peacefully bringing our baby into the world."
