Certified nurse midwife Belinda Lassen of Promise Community Health Center of Sioux Center, IA, provided the prenatal care for the family throughout the pregnancy and attended the home birth. Not only did Belinda help deliver this baby girl but also delivered her dad as well!  

Isabella was welcomed into the family by her big brother Asa and grandparents Scott and Meryann Beekner and Brad and Megan Hopp. 

Julius and Raya loved doing a home birth. Getting to be in the comfort of their own home and doing things the way they wanted to, as well as only having a couple of people around during the labor and delivery is what they loved the most. Raya loved having care from Belinda, her midwife because she is extremely knowledgable and she recommended natural ways of doing things. The Hopp's were able to contact the Promise team so quickly and with ease for the birth and when they have questions or concerns. Raya and Julius highly recommend Promise and having a home birth!

Hazel Marie, daughter of Jeremiah and Miranda Meek of Hospers, IA, was born 4:48 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019, in their home, weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and measuring 21 inches. Her brother is Benjamin, 13 months.

Max Herman, son of Aaron and Kara Bouma of Le Mars, IA, was born 1:53 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019, in their home, weighing 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and measuring 20 inches. He has four siblings, Paxton, 8; Sam, 6; Camden, 4; and Ann, 2. His grandparents are Alice and Lyle Krienert and Don and Linda Bouma.

Raylen Charles, son of Rod and Liza of Cherokee, IA, was born 6:57 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2019, in their home, weighing 8 pounds and measuring 21 inches. He has three siblings, Skyler, 14; Rowen, 5; and Anna, 3.

"My family and I have felt very cared for through the pregnancy, birth and post-birth process," Liza said.
