Dylan Alessandra, daughter of Wade and Sasha Duncan of Missouri Valley, IA, was born 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, in her home, weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and measuring 21 inches. She has an older brother, Barrett, 4.
Certified nurse midwife Belinda Lassen of Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center provided the prenatal care for the family, as she had with their previous child, and assisted with the home birth.
This was Sasha's first home birth experience, however.
"It was a wonderful experience," she said. "When it's in the comforts of your home, you're more relaxed."
