Meet the latest Promise Baby: Edison!

Edison, son of Aaron and Karina Van Wyhe of Milford, IA, was born 9:23 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, in his home, weighing 9 pounds, 4 ounces, and measuring 23 inches. He has two sisters, Josephine, 7, and Vivian, 5.

The family received prenatal care from Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center.

Certified nurse midwife Belinda Lassen has assisted with all of the family's births. This was Karina's first home birth.

"It was an amazing experience," Karina said.

Karina and Aaron Van Wyhe  have welcomed baby Edison into
their family. He was born March 15 in their Milford, IA, home.

Meet the latest Promise Baby: Daniel!

Daniel Paul, son of Jonathan and Jolyn Ruissen of rural Inwood, IA, was born Friday, March 4, in his home, weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and measuring 22 inches. He has seven siblings, Mitchell, Jacob, Kimberly, Levi, Dillon, Malia and Kyle.

The family received prenatal care from Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center.

Certified nurse midwife Belinda Lassen has assisted with all of Jolyn's births except for one. Her last two births have been at home.

"I like to be in private and left alone more," Jolyn said. "It's just my husband there. It's so much more relaxing being in your own bed and at home."

Meet the latest Promise Baby: Yesemia!

Yesemia, daughter of Lucia Martin Martin of Sioux Center, was born Monday, Feb. 22, at Sioux Center Health, weighing 6 pounds, 9 ounces, and measuring 17 inches. She has three older sisters.

Lucia received her prenatal care from Promise Community Health Center in Sioux Center.
